The experience
Proceed for an independent excursion to Northern Switzerland and visit the stunning Rhine Falls, Europe's biggest waterfalls.
In Schaffhausen, the town closest to the falls, you will see the 16th century Munot Fortress atop a hill overlooking the old town, which boasts a series of frescoed Renaissance façades. By now your appetite will have been whetted in expectation of the main event: the stunning Rhine Falls.
Hear the roar and feel the power of mother nature as you witness the largest waterfall in Europe in action. With a drop of 23 metres and a staggering width of 150 metres, you will not be disappointed. When Frankenstein author Mary Shelley visited the falls, she described them as ‘exceeding anything I had ever before seen’. More than 160 years later, the sensation is the same for many visitors. Some of the views of the falls are simply jaw dropping.
Allow yourself to be thrilled by this awe-inspiring natural phenomenon. At an additional price (EUR 7 per person to be paid on spot), you can opt to travel to the rock in the middle of the falls by boat and get right into the heart of breath-taking falls.
